BIO:
By the end of the 2008 season, Patrick had upgraded to a CAT 3 rider winning several races; participated in USA Nationals and State Championships Races where he took podium in all 3 series.
This was Patrick's last year racing as a junior. As for 2009, Patrick is looking to join a U23 Team to keep him moving forward and to bring some wins to a prospective team.
Patrick’s ultimate goal is to focus on becoming a Superior rider and one day race in the roads of Europe alongside world class riders.
By the end of the 2007 season, Patrick had upgraded to a
cat 4 and was recognized by his club (SCVelo) as the Most Improved Jr. Rider
.
Junior Team Captain Dominic Galenti encouragement was paying off.
In early 2006, at the age of fifteen Patrick started riding as a hobby and by the end of the season he was racing cat 5 and Jr. Races. “It had become his passion”
Patrick’s first group ride ever was the Palos Verdes ride. This ride covers most of the Pacific Palisades beach areas and surrounding hills. This ride changed the way Patrick viewed cycling to the point that he was prompt to write about it in an essay for his English class which he called My first Ride.
Cycling has always been a family tradition with Patrick's father a Colombian immigrant loving the sport and a grandfather who followed cycling in his prime years.
